A Need for Change
Plastic was once hailed as the wonder product, but now it has become the scorch of this planet causing irreparable damage to our environment and ecosystem as a whole. The proliferated use of plastic bags and other disposable plastic packaging has snowballed during the past decade into an environmental crisis.
More than 1 million plastic bags end up in the trash every minute.
100,000 marine animals are killed by plastic bags.
Up to one trillion plastic bags are used worldwide each year – that’s 160,000 a second.
If you linked them end to end they would circle the globe 4,200 times.
Around 10% of those will end up in our oceans.
Less than 1 in 7 plastic bags are recycled.
The US is responsible for around 327 billion bags that end up in the seas.
A plastic bag is used on average for 15 minutes.
It can take anything between 20-1000 years for a plastic bag to break up.
Polluting our soil, suffocating our marine life as well as leaking into out drinking water and food. Our planet is drowning in plastic, together we must act now to set into action changes that will have a profound affect on the future of our planet and our generations to come.
"Providing alternative plastic bag Solutions for consumers in line with the new initiatives put in place by the government."
A ban on plastic bags entered into force in Azerbaijan in accordance with the amendments to the Law on Environmental Protection. From January 1, 2021, Azerbaijan has banned the import, production, and sale of plastic bags with a thickness of up to 15 microns thick, as well as disposable tableware to buyers in trade, catering, and service facilities as well.
We recognize that there is a need to provide a sustainable alternative to fill the void left behind from the ban.
By following closely the needs of both consumers and our environment we provide the following eco-friendly solutions which are also compliant with government regulatory requirements:
- Providing the End product:
- Develop local production facilities:
- Training & Skill Sharing:
Compostable, biodegradable and recyclable bags, all of which provide a green alternative to polythene by degrading into non-polluting products after they are disposed off correctly. We offer bags in a variety of different shapes, thickness and sizes, in order to meet both the government and consumer needs.
Bring international and domestic technology together to create a local manufacturing facilities. Incorporate all phases of the production cycle: from raw material to recycling point.
Creating a knowledge and expertise hub for local governments in the area of sustainable goals. Organize trainings, conventions and forums.
Our solutions will help to protect the climate, clean life below water, bring new investments in sustainable infrastructure, create new workplaces and resilient industry, leading us into a new economic growth era.
Life Cycle of Plastic Waste
Depending on the Structural composition of the plastic, it can take anywhere from 20 to 500 years to decompose. The speed at whichplastic breaks down relies on the amount of sunlight it has been exposed to, and how intense the photodegradation process is. Plastic never fully goes away; it just breaks down into micro particles which is absorbed in the soil and enters our seas and rivers. As a result, entering the animal and human digestive systems.
In comparison, compostable and biodegradable bags decompose much faster and lead to reduction in overall carbon footprint. Compostable bags decompose in 10 to 45 days and biodegradable bags decompose in 3 to 6 months.
By choosing eco-friendly products we help reducelevels of toxic chemicals in our soil and drinking water, protecting public/animal health and supporting sustainable agriculture.
